In 2015 Brett Allen started a project of finishing a painting a day.
The goal of this series is to focus on the daily practice of painting, to be in the studio and create whether or not you have the time or motivation to paint. Allen looks at this process as a creative and mental calisthenic. Not always knowing from day to day what to paint, but to gain inspiration from daily events. The pressure of creating every 24 hours is a challenge and to fit studio time in amongst working three part-time jobs and caring for two school-aged children. The exhibition of these works will show all 365 paintings to display them in order, to show process and growth, and to show the struggles with the successes.

Brett Allen's #365PaintingsIn365Days will be on display Nov. 25 - Jan 26th at the Lawrence Percolator Gallery, 913 Rhode Island, Lawrence, Kansas.
