The Dept of Revenue has been accused of violating Missouri laws with their new driver's license system. Included are allegations that they are providing information about concealed carry permit holders to the federal Department of Homeland security and that they are, in effect, implementing the federal REAL ID program in spite of a 2009 Missouri law forbidding it.

This report by Homeland Security to Congress lists Missouri with the state that are working toward REAL ID and have taken grants to do so: http://www.mofirst.org/docs/08-28-12-...

In this 5 minute clip Senate Appropriations Committee chairman, Kurt Schaefer, grills the DOR Director and Deputy Director about their "evolving" testimony. Contrary to earlier claims that they were not implementing REAL ID, he gets them to admit they have been taking grants from the Dept. of Homeland Security REAL ID program.

Some are worried that this is back door gun registration, among other things.
