After hearing from Massachusetts' entrepreneurs and small businesses at a roundtable on Monday, U.S. Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) brought their message to Congress today and called on his colleagues to work together and pass his bill to legalize crowdfunding, the Democratizing Access to Capital Act (S. 1791). Crowdfunding would allow small businesses, entrepreneurs and startups to raise much needed capital from small dollar investors outside of traditional capital markets. Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced a forthcoming Senate Banking Committee hearing on small business growth, with crowdfunding legislation slated to be a topic of discussion.
