A metal remake of 16 Tons, as made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Lyrically, this song references the vicious cycle the coal miners would get in when they had to buy basic needs on credit - finding themselves working another payday cycle just to pay off their debt.
Similarly, we find ourselves with the modern day "company store" by way of payday loans, advances, high interest credit, etc
Which leads to the inherent problem of mounting debt by exploiting the poor. SOMEONE benefits from this marketing scheme.
Not claiming to have all the answers, it's my hope that this video simply gets one "thinking"
