Pardon the audio quality! Suburban Legends unexpectedly perform "Gummi Bears" at Disneyland's Tomorrowland Terrace on July 3, 2009 (with special guests Aaron Bertram on trumpet, Justin Lewis on trombone, and Chris Lucca on trumpet). The band had performed the song for the first time since 2005 just about a week before at Ska in the Park in Riverside, CA, by fan demand. My friends and I convinced them to play the song as seen here. Like at the Riverside show, they planned to play "DuckTales" but were overwhelmed by fan demand. With Aaron Bertram back, it would be a bit odd for them not to play "Gummi Bears" again, right?

How did we get them to play it, you ask? Well, I went on my iPhone and Google Image Searched for "gummi bears", downloaded the logo of the old Disney TV series from which the song is derived from, and had four friends do the same. We up our Gummi-Bear-displaying phones for most of the set until Vince finally gave the audience a choice, "Gummi Bears" or "DuckTales". "Gummi Bears" overwhelmingly won. And it sounded damn good to hear it again, regardless of the fact that they hadn't practiced it in years.

The day after, they played it again, and it was officially on their set list, for the first time in years. My friends and I were proud of that. On July 6, the SL Twitter read, "In case you weren't at Disney, SL now covers "Rock With You" in tribute to Michael Jackson! (Please request that instead of Gummi Bears) :D" Looks like they won't be playing "Gummi Bears" again for a long time!
