This is the JY-MCU Lattice clock sold by Dealextreme. I have upgraded the microcontroller to an ATMEGA328P clocked at 18.432MHz and added an LM34 Temperature sensor (in place of the DS18B20) I have written new firmware that allows for diplaying of pre-programmed messages as well as the temperature. Possible firmware updates may include adding a real time clock IC to display the time as well as possibly allowing for sending new messages via serial. Sample source for this demonstration is now available on my blog. As written, it will only run on an upgraded board. See my blog at http://www.rs-micro.com/
Update: I have now added new code that will run on the stock display.
