Historically and symbolically, mountain peaks are where holy people go to seek enlightenment. Sinai, Hara, Olympus, Glastonbury, Qingcheng Shan.... In this song, West Virginia singer songwriter, Todd Burge asks, "What would Moses Climb" if the Mountains were all stripped away... in response to the debate over Mountaintop removal.

This tune was written online by Burge and his Facebook Fans

My Granddads dad was from that mountain
And hed climb it from time to time to clear his head
He said in these peaks youll find heavens fountain
And when you breathe its mist youll live refreshed

But a massive shovel scraped the mountains away
And coal dust has settled on our West Virginia planes
Where can I turn for advice divine?
Tel me, what would Moses climb?

Where will all our hermits go
If not to lonely mountain peaks?
Where will prophets hear the gods
When mountains die from these techniques

Will lost souls simply blow and roll
Right through this brand new dust bowl
Where will we turn for advice divine
Tell me, what would Moses climb?
Thou shalt not steal is one forgotten line
Tell me, what would Moses climb?
