LORE - Devil May Cry Lore in a Minute!

Two millennia ago, the Devil Prince Mundus ruled over the Demon world. It was not enough, however, and he planned to conquer the Human world and rule over both realms. One of his most loyal generals, Sparda, rebelled and single-handedly defeated Mundus and his demon army. After sealing Mundus in a marble vault, Sparda turned his attention towards the Temen-ni-gru, the gateway between the demon and human realms.

To close the gateway, Sparda combined his own blood and the blood of a human priestess using his sword and the Perfect Amulet which would serve as the key to the gateway. Then, just in case, he imprisoned within the Temen-ni-gru tower its gatekeepers; Cerberus, Agni & Rudra, Nevan, Leviathan, and Beowulf. If that wasn't enough, he also took the Seven Sins, a group of fallen Angels--the personifications of the seven sins and set them as seals by nailing them to the earth with cursed stakes. Oh, and he sends the whole lot of them underground. Forever.

Sparda then reappears in the twentieth century to make beautiful demon love to a beautiful human woman named Eva and gives her the Perfect Amulet, which is still the key to unlocking the gateway to the demon world. She would eventually split the amulet into two halves and gift them to her twins, Dante and Vergil.
