The draft lottery has come and gone, the Sacramento Kings got lucky and jumped into the lottery as well as the Atlanta Hawks. My last mock draft video was one of my most well received videos of all time - so I thought I would do an update of the draft with the cemented pick order. Funnily enough, the wins predictor I used actually had the top 3 pick order the exact same, but a few things have changed so I will still go through the entire top 10 of the draft.
But who will teams choose? And can this draft rival the 2017 Draft Class? With guys like Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, Lauri Markkanen, Josh Jackson, DeAaron Fox, Dennis Smith, and Donovan Mitchell it might prove to be tough.
But DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley, Luka Dončić, Mo Bamba, Michael Porter Junior, Jaren Jackson Junior, Trae Young, and Mikal Bridges would all like a word. The top level talent of the 2018 NBA draft is pretty incredible and features some of the most intriguing prospects the league has seen.
Usually when an NBA Draft is this loaded with talent, it features a lot of point guards who develop really early and thus go early in the draft. But this time round, Trae Young is the only point guard I would even think about taking in the top ten. And even he is incredibly raw and probably has one of the highest floors and lowest ceilings of any player in the draft.
But Mo Bamba, DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley and Jaren Jackson Junior are the four best big men I can remember being in the same class for a long time. They are all incredible athletic, shoot threes, and have the tools to be good defenders. They represent the modern NBA big man who wants to do it all on both ends of the court. Who is the best? And which one of them do I think is a little bit overrated?
And then you have Luka Dončić and Michael Porter Junior as the versatile wings that could easily go top 3 if not number one in this draft. Both are incredible versatile and Dončić is perhaps the most complete player to come out Europe at the age of 19. Michael Porter Junior might have had a serious injury, but he reminds scouts of Kevin Durant, and that will be incredibly tempting at the top of the draft.
But where will they all go? This video will have my first Mock Draft and is dated as the 16th of May 2018. There will undoubtedly be more mock drafts to come, so get ready for them then!
