Speaker bio: As a Chicago creative and entrepreneur Priya has directed her energy towards building a network of artists and collaborators dedicated to igniting social awareness and change through art and imagination. Her ever evolving passion for art and travel has introduced her to opportunities to help better communities in Chicago and around the world. Through her diverse partnerships and endeavors, she has gained a truly unique perspective on humanity.

Priya studied Accounting & Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. However, her creative propensities led her to study abroad multiple times during college. During her travels she provided volunteer work in third world countries, which allowed her to interact with people from all walks of life, from international diplomats to children living in slums. These interactions ultimately led her to the realization that there existed a common, deeply intrinsic humanity, which was powerful enough to unite even the most divided people. Because of her inherent artistic nature, Priya was able to better communicate her experiences through an artistic lens. Her journey guided her towards becoming the founder of the non-profit organization, The Simple Good, whose mission is to connect the meaning of good around the world through a platform of art and discussion. Through public art projects and youth art programming, Priya’s vision is to cross culturally convey the message that no matter where you go in the world, good means the same to all of us, and that is what connects us as human beings.
