It's claimed, around one in ten soldiers who go to the frontline will develop problems with their hearing and as operations intensify in Afghanistan, so too are the number of troops suffering some kind of deafness. To tackle the problem, The Army's developed new ear defenders that protect the ear, but still allow soldiers to hear their commands. But according one Tory MP and former Army Officer, it's already being used by the Americans and it's come too late to save countless careers.
