Saturday night I had the honor and privilege to attend the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra performance with a dear friend. The reason for our attendance was the middle act which was the world premiere of a suite from a proposed musical, "Robert Moses Astride New York", written by Gary S. Fagin (also the musical director and conductor for the performance), and sung by Rinde Eckert. Not quite knowing what to expect, we were both pleasantly surprised by not only the powerhouse performance given by Mr. Eckert, but by the well-penned and tongue in cheek lyrics that only a reader of Mr. Caro's "The Power Broker" could properly appreciate, such was Mr. Moses' hubris.
