jack is so cute and its so reward to share this experience with kids. i completely agree! i started cooking with my grandma at a really young age and we tackled french dishes like duck l'orange and cow tongue stew (cow tongue?! ... i know, right?)! she was an amazing chef, but she also taught me to have an open mind when it comes to food! 
This is cute! My kitchen is pretty small so I usually wind up shooing the kids out for their own safety! It would be nice to let them help. But I can't get with them sitting on my counter, sorry!

I did the same exact thing when I was a kid! I was always made breads, cakes, alien things, not edible but fun!
