Then Gary Petersen graciously gives viewers a walking tour and explication of his latest painting show “Back There Behind the Sun”. These works, mostly from 2016, incorporate a hardedge aesthetic, but according to the artist, avoid the stale sense of high formalism buy maintaining a sense of humor and a personal high keyed taste in color.
