Fifty years ago, when Cazzie Lee Russell Jr. embarked on his first term at the University of Michigan, he entered a basketball program that had sunk to the lowest point in its five-decade history. Seemingly overnight this "cager for the ages" revived the Wolverines' program and changed Michigan basketball forever. This 1964 footage is courtesy of U-M's Bentley Historical Library.
