This is a video of Oshtemo Fire Department conducting one of many options for immobilized roof rescue. It's a field expedient method of performing a rescue without the support of an aerial device. All that's used is a ground ladder, a strap, a stokes basket, and a rope. Be sure the ladder's up tight to the wall below, a firefighter is putting weight downward on the ladder butt, the head of the stokes is strapped in two separate places (to prevent rolling), the tallest firefighters are walking the ladder down, and there's enough muscle to pull it off.
