On April 24th 2010 the ribbon was cut for Haddon Heights' first Community Center and the Haddon Heights Service Operations Facility. Mayor Scott Alexander and Council presided over the day long open house and health fair, which allowed residents to tour the new $2.5 million facility. The Service Operations Facility as part of Project Garnet opens up 6.32 acres of land for residential development to create new ratables and property tax income for the Borough. Mayor Alexander has been leading this economic development initiative for 18 months in order to lower property taxes.
