Keyword research can make sure your video will have a chance to be successful and that it has potential to get a lot of views. It will help you find out the monthly search volume on Google for a particular keyword phrase. Some free tools are Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends. With these you can input any keywords and find out how many people are searching for that keyword phrase on Google per month. A premium keyword research tool that I use is http://ChannelEmpire.com/LongTailPro. This tool delivers useful statistics and data about keywords that can help you find the absolute best keyword phrase to use for your video.

Find a certain keyword phrase that gets at least 1,000 monthly searches on Google. The more searches that are happening on Google, the more potential views you can get.

Metadata: video title, tags, description, and captions (or transcripts). Make sure you have all 4 of those factors taken care of. It will help you show up in search results and related video sections.

Your title should be the keyword phrase that you picked from your keyword research in step 1. Have a detailed description for your video. Have relevant tags. Upload manual transcripts to your YouTube caption settings. With accurate captions you can show up in search results rather quickly which will increase views.

Thumbnails are the little pictures of your videos that show up in search results. If you have an eye-catching and relevant thumbnail picture for your video then it's more likely to stand out to people and be noticeable. This will make more people click and watch your videos.

Annotations can link between your videos and your channel which will help you interact with your viewers and have them watch more of your videos. Plan to have "hotspots" on your video for your annotations to go.

Many YouTubers use "end cards" to get more views at the end of their videos. If you have an end card viewers are more likely to click on the annotations to your other videos, blooper reels, subscribe, or any other annotations you want to put there. Have it play for about 15 seconds after your whole video is done. That end card will persuade your viewers to click on and watch more of your videos.

Calls-to-action are very important. You don't want your viewers to watch your video then not do anything and leave. You always want your viewer to take some kind of action. Tell your viewer to do something: subscribe, like your video, share your video, comment, visit your website, etc. Make sure you have some sort of call-to-action on your videos so you can increase your YouTube views.

Use social media to share your video. Use relevant hashtags on popular social media platforms: Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Not only will your followers see them, but hashtags will make your video available for anybody searching on that social platform.

Playlists are a great way to increase your views on your YouTube videos. If you create a playlist with multiple videos in it then people are more inclined to stay and watch them. Another good thing about playlists is that the next video in the playlist will automatically play after the current video finishes.

InVideo Programming is a good way to promote a certain video across all of your videos. It's a box that pops up on all your videos at a certain time. You can promote any video that you want, and it will encourage people to click over and watch your featured video.

Collaborations could possible be the most powerful way to get more views on your YouTube videos. With collaborations you're getting thrown in front of a huge relevant audience. It's a great way to instantly get more views & more subscribers.

Collaborating with a YouTuber that has a bigger audience base can easily get you more views especially if that YouTuber has a similar audience as you. Their subscribers will most likely visit your channel to watch your videos and subscribe.
