Many Victorian fire fighters deployed this summer to mobile base camps will be accommodated in high-tech "yurts", a type of tent more commonly associated with nomadic homes on the steppes of Central Asia.
The Western Shelters are modelled on their ancient ancestor, the yurt, and are octagonal in shape, easily transported and simple to erect.
