Nigerian Puff Puff is a deep-fried snack with a spongy texture.
*** Ingredients •250g of Plain Flour •2 level teaspoons of yeast (the one used in baking bread) •1 level teaspoon of ground nutmeg •Granulated Sugar to taste •3 pinches of salt •Lukewarm water (for mixing) •Vegetable Oil (for frying)
FAQs Can I use baking powder instead of yeast? No because you won't achieve the spongy texture with baking powder.
What and what did you add? I wrote out all the ingredients I added when I added them inside the video. If you can't see these text, it means you are either watching this video on a mobile device or you turned off Youtube annotations.
Notes: - If your yeast is not powdered, soak it in warm water before adding to the mix. - To confirm that it is ok to fry the Nigerian Puff Puff, it should have risen more than its original quantity and you will notice small air bubbles in the mix. -When you put the Nigerian Puff Puff mix in the hot oil and there's sizzling but the Puff Puff balls do not come up to the surface then the oil is too hot. In that case, you need to stir with a spoon to make them come up.
