I'm working with Steve Collins from All Terrain Excavations and Andy from AMG Construction. We are making a foundation for a retaining wall under an existing home so that the living area can be extended. Nobody was surprised when a lot of rock was encountered, and I was able to break most of it using plugs and feathers (see previous video https://youtu.be/rv3m5SATLv8 ). I decided to use the plugs and feathers because there was no easily available soil to cover with and poor access made it near impossible to get blast mats in and out of there. When we returned on Monday Steve had managed to scratch up enough dirt to cover with, so we pulled off a lightly loaded, low vibration shot with nine short holes that quickly solved all the rock problems. Thanks to the spade army who helped cover the shot when the excavator was not able to reach.
