Georgia Pellegrini went from banking on Wall Street to cooking in New York restaurants to hunting in the wild -- and she wants you to do the same.
"I was really unhappy. I think it was sort of my journey in figuring out how to do what really made me tick," Pellegrini told Fusion's Alicia Menendez.
So Pellegrini left the stability of the finance world and opted for "modern pioneering." Pellegrini said getting back to your roots doesn't necessarily mean having to head into the wild.
"[It's] everything from growing 25 pounds of potato in a garbage bag on your fire escape to making fresh mozzarella in 30 minutes in your free time on the weekend," the modern-day Martha Stewart explained.
Pellegrini is rolling up her sleeves and getting back to her roots while encouraging women everywhere to do the same. Her motto? "Get some dirt under your fingernails even if you have red nail polish on them."
