One fateful night I woke up at 5am and was wondering what would happen if Crysis 2 was able to scale down to extremely low spec systems. What if it could switch from Cry Engine 3 to Quake, like GPU switching of modern Notebooks.

Another question was whether it was possible to implement the gameplay of a modern title to such old school engines.

I remembered hearing something about the release of the Quake sources, so after some reading up the programming started. Two days later (the Quake engine code makes so much sense and it's 100% published!) I had some little tech demo.

That was too much in too little time though... so publishing some video showing what's working so far had to wait till today.

The goal is clear: Develop some Crysis 2 Parody (like Duty Calls: The Calm before the Storm) based on Quake - and release it on Desura if it turns out to be good enough.

Speaking of Quality: No matter how good the game mechanics are, a little Crysis-like art would add much to the atmosphere.
