A dense group of tonguefish seen on the sedimented seafloor in 2006 at the Daikoku volcano along the Submarine Ring of Fire in the Pacific. The fish are more active than they appear at first glance.
Footage captured by the Jason remotely operated vehicle, which is operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as part of the National Deep Submergence Facility which is jointly funded by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, and NOAA.
