Another Healthy recipe to be passed around. I have been watching alot of Shaycarl, shaytards and shayloss and they have been keeping me inspired to keep eating healthy. I hope you all like it and give it a try.
Lazy Cabbage Rolls
1 large cabbage, chopped or shredded 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbs butter 1 lb extra lean ground beef (you can also use chicken or turkey) 3 garlic cloves, crushed 1 tsp Italian seasoning 2 large cans of diced tomatoes (i used low sodium italian spiced) 2 large cans of water(use tomato can) 1 large can of low sodium tomato sauce 1/2 tsp salt (i used 1/8-1/4tsp) pepper to taste 1 1/2-2C rice
-saute onion in the butter until soft -add the meat and cook until brown -add in the garlic, italian seasoning and mix -add in the 2 large cans of tomatoes, 2 large cans of water, salt, pepper and bring to a rolling boil for a few mins -add in your rice, stir well and simmer on low-med for 20 mins making sure you mix every few mins - using a large baking dish or roasing pot, layer the meat sauce first then cabbage back and forth and top off with tomato sauce(make sure all cabbage is covered -cover with foil(not air tight) and bake at 350* for 1 hr or until cabbage is soft -remove foil and let it stand for 10 mins, ---------- ENJOY ----------
