http://www.euronews.net/ Nearly 20,000 fans were lucky enough to have a ticket to the Michael Jackson memorial at LAs Staples Center. The rest of the world was able to watch the music, tears and tributes on television.
For two hours a host of stars from from the spheres of music, film and sport took turns to express what Jackson meant to them and his millions of fans.
Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey and Usher were among those that sang, while words were spoken by the Reverend Al Sharpton, Magic Johnson and Brooke Shields.
Since Jacksons death from an apparent cardiac arrest on June the 25th, tributes to his music have been paid worldwide. On the day of his funeral, the attention was focussed on the basketball arena in Los Angeles chosen by his family.
And the Jackson family was out in force, many of them celebrities in their own right. But one Jackson whose face has rarely been seen before without a veil, provided the most poignant moment of the ceremony: Michael Jacksons 11-year old daughter Paris.
I just want to say, ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine, and I just wanted to say I love him so much, she said before breaking into tears and falling into the arms of her aunt, Janet.
