Madonna - Holiday (1983)
"Holiday" may just be the most important dance song of Madonna's entire repertoire. Critically revered across all musical aisles, the synth-pop song and its infectious dance beats was actually one of the last songs selected by album producer Reggie Lucas during the process of Madonna's 1983 debut LP. The song was originally rejected by Phyllis Hyman and ex-Supreme Mary Wilson, but was selected by Lucas to help fill out the album's track list. DJ John "Jellybean" Benitez was personally selected to help remix much of the content on Madonna's self-titled disc, including "Holiday." The song shot up to No. 16 pop, No. 25 R&B and No. 1 on the Dance Music/Club Play charts.
