How to setup Nextcloud server on a Raspberry Pi and use an external USB harddrive for the data storage. Host your own Cloud service with free open source software.

0:52 Packages to install:
$ sudo apt install ufw
$ sudo apt install snapd
$ sudo snap install nextcloud

1:53 Mounting USB Drive:
$ sudo mkdir media/nextdata
$ sudo blkid
Copy the UUID code
$ sudo nano /etc/ftsab
UUID=uuid_code /media/nextdata auto nosuid,nodev,nofail 0 0
$ sudo mount -a
$ sudo nano /var/snap/nextcloud/current/nextcloud/config/autoconfig.php
replace the directory variable
$ sudo snap restart nextcloud.php-fpm

5:48 Enabling HTTPS
$ sudo /snap/bin/nextcloud.enable-https lets-encrypt
$ sudo /snap/bin/nextcloud.enable-https self-signed
(optional) $ sudo snap set nextcloud ports.https=8443

6:41 Nextcloud Client:
sudo snap install nextcloud-client
