Otoplasty - For wide, prominant or flappy ears: The aesthetic role of the ear is undisputed. The ears, along with the nose mantain the harmonic balance of the head. The outer ear (the visible part) is made up of a cartilaginous fibers, with a span of around 6 cm. The otoplasty aims to correct the prominent, wide, flappy ears by means of specific plastic surgery interventions. Various other congenital or traumatic defects (ear cutting, scars, amputations) can also be corrected. The procedure involves bringing the ears closer to the face and shaping them for a better, natural result, as neccesary. Otoplasty, or cosmetic ear surgery, can be used to reshape one or both ears. Patients who are unsatisfied with the size, shape or orientation of their ears can alter their appearance for the better through this outpatient procedure.
