Mark Elliott | Life in a Learning Community - Learning, Unlearning and Relearning Fort McMurray | Mark is an Instructional Designer in the Learning Innovation Division at Keyano College. He is currently in the final stages of a doctorate in Leadership, Education, and Technology. Originally from Ontario, Mark spent every summer of his university years planting trees in southern Alberta. In 2002, Mark lived in Fort Chipewyan and taught adult education; he then moved to Fort McMurray in 2006. Mark is also a published poet and photographer who enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
