The Flying Man Blues

By the time I got to Boston I was packed with fuzzy dreams,
A weird man was telling me, that I'm a hawk and I have wings.
So I took the jet lag with me and I went out for a stroll,
Left my jacket at the hotel, and the tired piece of my soul

Oh Lord, Ive asked myself,
Is it true that Ive become an elf ?
Oh no, the weird man replied,
It's the road to madness, straight to the skies.

Ok now, this information can be shocking and in your face,
But I knew that I was crazy, sewing thoughts, making lace.
The bartender was ugly, but I put him on the team,
He poured religion in my system, with a fifth of old Jim Beam.

Oh Lord, Im asking again,
What to do with these wings, now that I have em ?
Oh dear, the weird man replied,
All you have to do, is lay back and fly.

So I closed my eyes and I made a wish, towards heaven to take off,
The angels were so shocked to see me, it was just like a Mexican standoff.
I told them: Don't be afraid. I'm a human who can fly,
Cause that weird guy whom I told you, just allowed me to drop by.

Oh Lord, Im wondering now,
Should I stay, should go back down?
Oh God, the weird man sighed,
Just use those wings and fly, fly, fly.

And stop asking..
Cause Ill no more.
