Go back in time for a few minutes at Riverside, NY the way it was in 1991 . Get a feel for the way the Original Mainline of the ERIE Railroad was laid out through the tiny village in 1849. The speed for trains around this curve was 40 MPH and included such famous names as The Erie Limited , The Mid-Lander and the Pacific express to mention a few. The Milk Express was a regular service on the Erie as were numerous coal , mixed freight and Troop movements. This all stopped on November 22, 1952 when the Erie opened a new routing around the heart of downtown Corning. A brief view of this new mainline are seen along with a window into the highway bypass construction project of 1993 that would erase forever , any remaining original Erie Route Trackage in the area. If you don't have anything to do for the next 6 minutes , come hang out by the railroad for a few. Thanks for watching. Peace.
