On Tuesday, the Latvian capital, Riga, saw hundreds of former Nazi SS veterans parading in a controversial commemoration march. Despite widespread opposition and counter-rallies, almost two-thousand supporters took to the streets to honour those who died fighting on the German side during the Second World War. The rally was staged by the party For Fatherland and Freedom, which is also a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists group within the European Parliament. This, in turn, has triggered criticism towards the UK's Conservative party, which has recently realigned with the ECR. To talk more about the new Tory position and what the situation may signal for Europe, we're joined by the Labour MP, Denis McShane.
