This is a short demo of the progress we have made for our Texas A&M senior project. Using National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW we plan to build a robot capable of autonomously playing Guitar Hero.

We currently have a virtual instrument built that can analyze a single line of composite video output from a PlayStation2. The VI is able to detect notes on the screen by monitoring the voltage of a range of pixels. When the voltage rises above a given point (roughly 0.5V) we trigger an indicator to show detection.

The next step is to interface the virtual instrument with a robotic circuit we have built that will actually execute the notes on a Guitar Hero game controller.

This video was used as a submission for NI Week's call for demos.
