Download Location listed below: Not long ago, Marvel pulled off the difficult task of making a newer character become an instant classic with a great back history that made it seem like Sentry had been a vital part of their Universe for a very long time. Well, Acey has done something similar here in creating an instant Mugen classic. This is the first release, so expect updates in the future as Acey is very committed to doing things like that, especially when he is fully charge of both the coding and sprite editing of characters, such as Sentry.
I love the look of this character as he just has a powerful and dominating presence about him. This is also the case through many of the animations of moves as well. The sound is good, especially the chilling way Sentry begins 'The Void' Hyper. I also like the variety of portraits used as they show off the actual comic creators work.
As I said before, the moves lend credence to him being a powerful character and are extremely comic accurate, something that Acey is well known to strive for with all of his creations. Again, this is a first release, so expect more moves of this same caliber to be added in with the next update. I'm looking forward to it already.
*Specials*
----------------
- Light Projection: Firing a projectile attack composed of light energy. This is done in two different capacities
- Light Uppercut: A blast of energy from an uppercut
- Light Kick: A blast of energy from a flipping kick maneuver
- Spinning Throw: Grabs the opponent to spin them around before releasing for a painful impact
*Hypers*
--------------
- Thunder Clap: Powerful charging attack
- The Void: His alter ego and greatest nemesis makes a chilling appearance for an attack
- Space Slam: Flies the opponent into the air and then slams them back down for a massive impact
- Light Explosion: Sentry explodes with light energy to unleash a devastating attack
I had a couple small issues with him. The various projectile moves were difficult for me to pull off. I understand though that people familiar with playing Guile though might not have this problem...but I am not one of those people. Also, I thought the Thunder Clap was a little slow to develop. To give it a greater impact to show just how powerful he is, I think it would be awesome if there were more animations to the attack, as well as if they were done in a quicker fashion. And the AI is strange. He more than held his own against some good competition in this video, in fact beating them soundly, but something just seemed off as though it could take advantage of his strength and moves much better. Also, occasionally I noticed that the stun move so The Void can do his thing better does not happen...this does not happen often, but I did notice it a couple times myself. Again, these are very small things and they do not detract from the enjoyment of this character and I am very thankful to not only have him in my roster, but that he was the inaugural release of IMT's own release party event. Thank you Acey as this was one of the characters I've been looking forward to the most during this entire release season.
