Pablo Bronstein in conversation with International Design critic Alice Rawsthorn, author of Where Design Meets Life
Alice Rawsthorn is a British design critic, author and writer. Born in Manchester, she later graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Art and Architectural History going on to become an award-winning writer for the Financial Times between 1985 to 2001, for which she worked as a foreign correspondent in Paris providing pioneering coverage of creative industries.She has since contributed her writing on design to internationally renowned publications such as The New York Times and Frieze magazine. She has authored many critically acclaimed books including a biography of Yves Saint Laurent and most recently the book, Hello World: Where Design Meets Life which explores the significant role design plays in influencing our everyday lives. She was director of the Design Museum from 2001 until 2006 and is now Chair of Trustees for the Chisenhale Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery and the Michael Clark contemporary dance company
