My band Doublecross, competing in the 1994 WKQQ "Decent Exposure" contest that was held at a club in Lexington, KY. Even though we were a cover band, I wrote a handful of original songs for this show. This clip features our opener, "Right Where You Want Me".
This contest was an annual January event that most every area band strived to take part in - essentially a "Battle of the Bands" in which you could compete for prizes and perform in front of several hundred people. The most famous winner of this contest thus far has been Charlie Crowe, a lead guitarist who won "Decent Exposure" in the early '90s and has toured for several years as the lead guitarist for country group Brooks and Dunn.
Our lineup at the time included Danny Romans on lead guitar, Tony Dunn on bass, Mike Wilson on keyboards, Dean Gillespie on drums, and myself on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
