Took a break from the Spring commisioning tasks to try out a theory I had for the GoPro Hero camera. This camera angle is definately one I'm looking forward to using more often and I'm hoping to get the camera set so I can shoot the boat while underway from "outside" the cockpit. Looking forward to seeing how this works out on the water in a chop but so far I like how it worked.

The camera was on 1080p mode and was assigned to Upside Down. Using the GoPro Rollbar mount the camera was stuck on the end of one of my outriggers. I really got a kick out of how the GoPro fisheye effect made my Southport Boat look so much smaller :-)

Its going to take some practice to get the panning smooth as the riggers want to stop at their preset locations. The outrigger was only extended half it's length as I believe on the water the rocking of the boat will have the rigger flexing with the waves too much to produce decent video.

Maybe Tonight Fishing Charters fishes the waters of Great South Bay and Fire Island Inlet on Long Island's south shore for striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, fluke and other local species.
