The culmination of the 04 Summer Tour in Glastonbury played a strong role in the selection of the visuals and themes for the tour. With the Glastonbury Festival originating during the hippie era and the belief the venue is located on a mystical ley line, the design team blended imagery of sun, moon, magic, legend with a twist of Celtic mythology and Sixties psychedelia.
Each show was opened with an approximately 18-minute remix performed from the side of the stage by Roy Kerr, aka The Freelance Hellraiser, aka DJ Hellraiser. He was accompanied center stage by a heraldic performer on stilts who served as MC to the other 8 dance and acrobat performers dressed in brightly coloured medieval and '60s costumes. The remix, which blended several familiar McCartney tracks into unfamiliar forms, would serve as a pre-cursor to the formal 2005 collaborative release Twin Freaks.
