Global Power Shift, #PowerShift Conference Videos

George Barda has been a social & environmental justice campaigner and activist for over a decade, and has worked at a number of development and environment NGOs including Concern worldwide, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace. He has recently completed a master's degree in Environment, Politics and Globalisation at King's College. George shot to fame with the Occupy London protests when he spent weeks camping in St Paul's Churchyard. When the City of London Corporation took legal action to evict the protest, he put himself forward as a litigant in person so that he could mount a completely different defence from the one organised by the camp as a whole.

PowerShift2014 UK is part of Global Power Shift , which launched in June 2013 with a week-long convergence of 600 people from 130 countries around the world in Istanbul. The Power Shift UK organising team aims to bring people together to help create a UK climate movement that is more diverse and involves a broad range of groups and people from a range of backgrounds.
