Natural dyes http://www.thaisilkmagic.com/blog

This video in our series on natural dyes is dedicated to our village grandmas.

Just look at the size of this tree stump.
It's very heavy and 2 of our grandmas actually delivered it to us today.
It's called the Kay tree and it's a very special tree.
did you see the 2 grandmas who carried th huge tree stump? Two of our very special grandmas who guide and support us at Thai Silk Magic.

Their wisdom and knowledge of traditional natural dyes is absolutely invaluable.

This tree, the Kay tree, is another extroadinary source for our natural dye colours.

in the video Dao adding some of the tree wood chips to some warm water.

But our demonstration will not do it justice as it has the capacity to produce a
range of magical natural dye colours from deep red to light gold.

This requires lots of heat and time.

Truly a magical tree.
Check out these naturally dyed silks and they're all from the Kay tree.

A true grandma's treat for Thai Silk Magic.
