One year the Tunisian Revolution that sparked the Arab Spring, Pulitzer Center grantee Jessie Deeter continues her investigation of the politics and economy of Tunisia. The Tunisian Revolution, which ousted President Ben Ali after 23 years of strict rule, left Tunisia in a difficult political and economic transition during a worldwide recession and European debt crisis. Blooming unemployment and economic downturn continue to mire Tunisia's political scene, where the recent democratic victories of the Islamic Ennahda party lead some moderate Tunisians to question what progress was truly made after the Tunisian Revolution.
