If you enjoy having plants around the house-not only because they look good but because they just seem to make you feel good... Heads Up! Scientists say you may be onto something. Studies show many household plants can actually help filter the air, absorbing and destroying common toxic chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde. The chemicals are given off by things like furniture, carpets, even appliances. A former NASA scientists says some household favorites-- like palms, the peace lily, and fichus-do the trick better than others. Can a little foliage really help you breathe easier?
