Jason Soles is a gifted game designed and artist from Seattle, United States. For the past 12 years he has designed many successful games for 'Privateers Press'. He is currently the lead designer for 'Warmachine', 'Hordes', and 'Iron Kingdoms', and also works with a Victorian age horror themed 'Unhallowed Metropolis' role playing game. His other activities include writing, bronze sculpting, and traveling the world. In this presentation, Jason Soles discusses WARMACHINE, HORDES, the IKRPG, and game development at Privateer Press. The conversation will focus on the requirements and challenges of character and setting development and of translating those elements into games and other media.
This presentation was recorded at Ropecon 2014. Ropecon is the largest non-commercial roleplaying convention in Europe. The convention was held for the 21st time during summer 2014 in the Dipoli conference center in Espoo, Finland. Ropecon gathers over 3.500 participants annually for one weekend to play roleplaying, collectible card, miniature, board, and live action role-playing games, to listen to presentations, and to participate in workshops.
