A new Georgia Sea Grant study finds that up to 79% of the oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill may not be gone, contradicting first reports by NOAA. 4.9 million barrels were involved in the spill and about 4.1 million actually reached the Gulf. Based on estimates, high loss and low loss rates, 70-79% of the oil remains in the ecosystem.
