Varanasi, June 19 (ANI): Amid calls by Muslim organisations in India to boycott yoga as they deem it 'anti-Islam', a Muslim yoga instructor in Uttar Pradesh comes as an inspiration to people of all faiths. Aftab Alam, a Muslim yoga instructor, is teaching yoga at Jayapur, the village adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh. Modi had 'adopted' Jayapur under the 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' after he became the Prime Minister on May 26 last year. The yoga camp where Alam teaches yoga is a week-long camp which started on June 15 and will continue till June 21, when the International Yoga Day will be observed. Everyday 2-to-3 instructors teach yoga in the camp. Alam said that the camp is a way to carry forward Modi's dream of making India "clean and healthy". He stressed that yoga is not limited to a certain religion, but is a way to live healthy. He added that the yoga camp is being well received by the villagers and the number of yoga enthusiasts at the camp is increasing every day.
