Transformers #4-5 - Atop the Fourth Wall

More than meets the eye! More bad art, more stupidity…

RUMINATIONS: I had heard rumblings about the Dreamwave Transformers comics for a while and had learned about Pat “Superstar” Lee from Shortpacked. Subsequently, when David Willis, the author of Shortpacked, mentioned that he had some Dreamwave Transformers comics he had wanted to get rid of, I jumped at the chance and asked if I could have them for the review. He included the piece of artwork at the beginning with the “Be Ready” message. I can’t remember if he had seen my stuff before then or had only watched it after I did the video, but either way, I’m proud to have gotten them from him.

I don’t know if Willis considers me a friend, a colleague, or what, since we don’t talk to each other as regularly as, say, he does with his webcomics compatriots. I’d like to think we’re at least casual friends, especially since in two strips I DID end up making a cameo – asking about ninja toys. Mind you, that could have been the result of me pointing out that I hadn’t gotten artwork on the inside cover of a Shortpacked book I had ordered… only to discover later that I hadn’t ORDERED the copies with those. Whoops.

Still, either way, I’m proud to say that I have been immortalized in a fantastic webcomic by being carried around by a ninja who may or may not have stabbed me. Good times.
