3eyes design toy car with video part 2 = VIDEO PLAY
This is the 2nd of 3 VideoCar videos. In this video the toy car is being used as a video camera rather than a toy car: recording events, explaining things, performance, etc. This video has been edited from footage shot by the kids playing with the VideoCar.
VideoCar is a wireless toy car with video/audio recording. The car is super-simple to use: just flick the big switch on the top, the headlights come on (visual feedback) and the car immediately begins to record video from the 'driver's view'. After you have shot your video, place the car in it's special cradle that is plugged into your TV, flick the same big switch on top and your video 'scenes' are played back in the order that you shot them!
Concept design, prototype design and construction, testing, and video editing by Theo Humphries (3eyes.co.uk, CSAD, UWIC) at the Royal College of Art in 2004. This project was a successful entry to a design competition by HotWheels (Mattel) with whom I then partook an amazing summer internship in LA in 2004.
