Joe Fisher, a 2011 graduate of Norwich University's Master of Architecture program, utilized his knowledge and love of music for his thesis project.

By studying the flow of tension and resolution in blues guitar music, Fisher gradually began to sketch out the lines of a building and grounds that he would locate on the site of the defunct Spire project in Chicago.

In this video, recorded during his final thesis presentation, Fisher talks about his selection of the classic Robert Johnson tune, "Crossroads," as the basis for a building. During the course of his fifth year at Norwich, Fisher gradually morphed his feelings about the music into bricks and mortar.
