The Pyrofab is an intermediate pyrolysis technology mobile demonstrator based upon Pyroformer™ technology developed by the European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University, UK. The Pyrofab has the potential to play a substantial role in delivering Europe’s low carbon future by turning waste into sustainable bioenergy. The Pyrofab is compact and portable, allowing waste and residues to be locally sourced and enabling bio-energy to stimulate local and regional economies.
The Pyrofab has been developed through BioenNW, a project funded by the European Union INTERREG IVB programme. BioenNW is led by the European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University and brings together 11 partners from academia, local authorities and businesses to jointly address Europe’s low carbon future and works in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
The objective of BioenNW is to promote the adoption of local bioenergy, to stimulate the creation of new jobs, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and to protect energy security in North West Europe. This animation introduces the Pyrofab concept.
